  17. <p>    Thinking of his new yet unaccountable celebrity gives
  18. Mickey Mantle, 57, goose bumps. "I haven't played for 20 years,"
  19. says the Mick modestly, "but I seem to be more popular than I've
  20. ever been." His bubble-gum card is like gold; fans stock up on
  21. Mantle figurines, action toys and his four videos. Perhaps it's
  22. nostalgia for a simpler time. "When I was playing," says Mantle,
  23. "we thought six bottles of beer was risque." As for the kids,
  24. maybe "their dads are saying `There's a guy you ought to be
  25. like.'" Home run.
